In today's fast-paced world, personal well-being encompasses more than just physical and emotional health—it also includes financial assurance. The relationship between personal finances and overall well-being is undeniable. When we achieve financial stability, we lay the foundation for a life marked by reduced stress, greater freedom, and enhanced mental and physical health. This article explores how HIM prepares its learners for personal financial stability, which directly contributes to personal well-being and performance. It explains why managing our finances is crucial for a balanced, fulfilling life. A fulfilling life, in turn, increases our student's "world-readiness."

1. Reduced Stress and Anxiety

One of the most immediate benefits of financial stability is significantly reduced stress and anxiety. Financial uncertainty—whether it's due to mounting debt, unexpected expenses, or living paycheck to paycheck—creates a mental burden. This financial pressure often leads to chronic stress, which can affect both psychological and physical health.

At HIM Business School, we incorporate personal finance into our curriculum. Students are able to take advantage of what the markets offer through Stock, Crypto, ETFs, and other securities trading. Students already start investing in their future at an early age, giving them a sense of financial control and thus certainty for the future. This assurance, in turn, alleviates stress and allows students to focus on forging meaningful and profitable relationships.

2. Improved Mental Health

Financial instability is closely linked to poor mental health. Studies have shown that individuals facing financial difficulties are more prone to depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. The uncertainty surrounding finances can lead to feelings of hopelessness or being trapped in a cycle of debt or financial hardship.

At HIM Business School, we explore the importance of debt in wealth creation as well as the cost of debt, which if ill-managed, could lead to financial distress. Interest rate calculations are a cornerstone of the financial management courses delivered here at HIM Business school.

3. Better Physical Health

Financial stress can take a significant toll on physical health, often manifesting in headaches, sleep disturbances, high blood pressure, and other stress-related ailments. People under financial strain may also avoid or delay seeking medical care due to cost, which can worsen health issues over time.

At HIM Business School, corporate financial planning is core to our curriculum. We also examine financial planning from a micro-level, exploring the importance of hedging one's bets using bespoke, tailored insurance packages. This gives our students a fair amount of financial assurance in the future, hence boosting their physical health. Robust physical health boosts readiness to perform beyond expectations in the business world.

Personal financial stability is not just about having money; it's about creating a foundation that supports all aspects of life. By achieving financial stability, individuals reduce stress, improve mental and physical health and deliver results in both the personal and business spheres. Incorporating financial literacy and planning into our curriculum here at HIM Business School is a well-thought-out strategy to enable our learners to be physically and mentally ready for whatever challenges they may face in the future. This journey requires resilience, discipline and rigour but the rewards—both financial and personal—are well worth it. HIM Business School has a solid 40-year legacy of rolling out graduates with these fine qualities.
